Swetic's response to the government's food strategy 2.0

As a trade association for companies in testing, inspection and certification (TIC), Swetic welcomes the government's initiative with Food Strategy 2.0. We view positively the strategy's ambition to increase Swedish food production and strengthen competitiveness throughout the food chain.

To achieve these goals, we would like to emphasize the importance of robust and equivalent control systems. Effective and uniform food control is fundamental to ensuring food safety and consumer confidence. We therefore support the government's mandate to the Swedish Food Agency to increase the equivalence of food control throughout the country.

Furthermore, we believe that efforts to combat food fraud are of utmost importance. By strengthening measures against food fraud, we can ensure that consumers have confidence in the products offered on the market. We therefore support the government's efforts to further develop efforts to combat food fraud.

Swetic also views initiatives to reduce food waste positively. By working to implement reduced food losses and food waste throughout the food chain, we can contribute to more efficient food production. We therefore support the government's mandate to the Swedish National Food Administration to continue working to reduce food waste.

Finally, we would like to emphasize the importance of promoting exports and innovation of Swedish food. By establishing a Food Export Center and implementing export promotion programs, Swedish food production can reach new markets and strengthen its position internationally. We look forward to collaborating with relevant stakeholders to achieve these goals.

Swetic stands ready to contribute our expertise in testing, inspection and certification to work together with the government and other stakeholders towards a strengthened and sustainable Swedish food production.
