The aim is to draw attention to why we can be safe when we ride in an elevator, drive a car or drink water from the tap.

Accreditation is based on a large international regulatory framework that means that goods and services are regularly checked according to international standards to ensure that both consumers and producers are confident that the quality is up to standard. Accreditation can be described as an authorization to perform a certain task. Almost all industrialized countries have a so-called accreditation body. In Sweden, it is the authority Swedac, which, after examination, accredits companies to perform a certain social task, such as car inspections or analyzing drinking water.

Many important societal functions are accredited or controlled by certified companies that are in turn accredited. That's where Swetic's members come in. It is thanks to our member companies that you can be sure that things are working as they should in society. Our members operate in areas such as control/certification of the food chain, CE marking, control and certification of the environment, safety and quality, inspection of elevators and escalators, control and certification of medical equipment, and certification of people.

Please watch the IAF and ILAC video about World Accreditation Day here

Some of the UN's sustainable development goals:

Goal 6 – Clean water and sanitation for all

Goal 7 – Sustainable energy for all

Goal 8 – Decent work and economic growth

Goal 9 – Sustainable industry, innovation and infrastructure

Goal 11 – Sustainable cities and communities

Goal 12 – Sustainable consumption and production

Goal 13 – Combat climate change

Goal 14 – Oceans and marine resources

Goal 15 – Ecosystems and biodiversity

June 9th is World Accreditation Day.
