Technological developments are advancing rapidly, and although the accreditation and third-party auditing industry is not at the forefront of digitalization, change is just around the corner.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 We are positive about using new technology, with care and caution. The pace at which AI and machine learning are affecting us is slower for our industry than in other industries and there is a risk that we will fall behind, says J\u00f6rgen Backersg\u00e5rd, chairman of Swetic. AI and algorithms are entering the equipment that we will control and CE mark. We need to secure that competence and work more digitally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One area where technological developments are already making an impact is remote inspections. By using drones and various types of robotics, inspections can be carried out remotely, which both streamlines the process and increases safety for the employees carrying out the inspection.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\u2013 Using sensors, we can collect data on how, for example, a crane works over time, which allows us to better assess the remaining lifespan, explains J\u00f6rgen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With new technology comes new challenges. How do we ensure that AI-based assessments are reliable? How do we handle data in an ethical and secure manner? These are questions Swetic is actively working to answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
