Food
The Technical Committee for Food serves as a forum for addressing current and future issues related to international and national food safety standards. The committee discusses and interprets these standards, monitors the food sector and responds to current referrals.
TK Livsmedel works for, among other things:
- Promoting the importance of third-party certification in the food industry, which includes everything from primary production to certified management systems and processes
- To engage members and certified market players in industry-wide issues
- To ensure that there is a national coordination forum for all certification organizations accredited under standards in the food sector (e.g. BRCGS, IFS, FSSC 22000, IP Livsmedel, EU-organic, KRAV, etc.), and that contributes to the development of these standards
- To provide specific information for Swedish accredited certification bodies regarding special requirements from other food standards
- To work towards increased competence and attractiveness within the industry, especially among young people
- To include all certification bodies working with food safety
These efforts contribute to higher standards and safety in the food industry, and promote the continuous development of safety standards and application.
