FOS 2010-12: Lift tables with fixed landings
Question: Is it permissible to install a lifting table for transport between fixed platforms intended for the transport of goods and people or only goods?.
Answer: Yes, in industrial environments and for professional use by trained personnel. According to SS-EN 1570-1:2011+A1, lifting tables that serve up to two fixed landings may, under certain conditions, be used for the transport of goods and accompanying operators. The declaration of conformity must state this. The area of use must be stated in the instructions for use. Alternatively, the manufacturer of the lifting table places it on the market and declares it as a ”Lifttable”. An installer supplements it with equipment for use between fixed landings. In that case, the device must be declared by the installer and the area of use must be stated in the instructions for use. If the device falls under the definition of a lift in the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning’s regulation, the inspection requirements in BFS 2011:12 apply with amendments.
