FOS 2013-22: Requirements for emergency stop and door opening button in the elevator car after car door installation
Question: Should the emergency stop in the car be removed and must a door reversal button be installed in the car when it is fitted with a car door after modification?
Answer: Yes, the stop button must be removed. Elevators with car doors intended for passenger transport must not have an emergency stop in the elevator car, with the exception of elevators with docking maneuvers. Elevator cars with automatic doors must also have a push button next to the car control panel with which the closing movement can be reversed.
