Question: What competence requirements are placed on the person assisting during the inspection?

Answer: For lifts, it is described in general advice chapter 4, section 1 of BFS2011:12, as amended, that the person assisting in the inspection must have the necessary competence for the task. "The company or organization that performs or is responsible for care and maintenance should be able to demonstrate the following: That the person performing the work has documented knowledge of the device in question and has been informed of applicable regulations."”
