FOS 2019-31: Requirements for stays during assembly inspection of construction hoists
Question: Do any braces need to be installed during the installation inspection of a construction hoist that, according to the installation plan, is to be raised and braced?
Answer: Yes. According to AFS 2003:6, Section 16, the lift that has been installed according to the installation plan must be found to offer satisfactory safety. At least one stay and one landing according to the installation plan must be installed in order to be assessed.
