FOS 2014-26: Installation inspection of facade elevator after elevator relocation
Question: Is there a requirement for an assembly inspection of a previously inspected facade lift that is moved between different tracks at the same installation site? For example, a building or installation site that has several tracks where the lift (car and its machinery) can be used.
Answer: According to AFS 2003:6, a facade lift does not need to be inspected if the first installation inspection also included all the different installation options for using the lift at the same installation location.
Installation inspection means an inspection that is carried out before the device is put into use or put back into use after it has been moved to a new installation location.
The scope of inspection during the recurring inspection includes the elevator and all facade rails at the installation site.
The requirements in AFS 2006.6 must be followed regarding the use of lifting devices. The manufacturer's instructions regarding self-inspection, etc. must be followed.
Adopted 20140506, version 0.
