FOS 2021-03: Passage through engine room to room with other installations

Question: Is it allowed to pass through the engine room to rooms with other installations?

Answer: A lift machine room may only contain equipment that belongs to the lift and the machine room may not be used for the passage of unauthorized persons to other rooms or spaces. When changing conditions in existing lift machine rooms, an assessment must be made in each individual case, changes must provide satisfactory protection for safety and health.
