SWETIC chooses Innovation Companies – a strategic step for the future
SWETIC, the trade association for companies in inspection, testing and certification, has decided to enter into a long-term collaboration with Innovationsföretagen. As of January 1, 2026, SWETIC will become a trade association within Innovationsföretagen, which means that the organization will have access to a broad network, strategic support and administrative services tailored to the needs of the industry.
The background to the decision is that Teknikföretagen has chosen to discontinue the operations of Teknikföretagen's Industry Groups, which currently provide office services to around twenty industry organizations.
– The board has long appreciated the valuable support we have received from the Technology Companies Industry Groups. We look forward to becoming part of the Innovation Companies and to developing our industry further together. With their expertise and network, we receive stronger support in strategic issues and advocacy work, while our members gain access to a broad, cross-industry context, says Jörgen Backersgård, chairman of SWETIC.
The Innovation Companies will assist SWETIC with strategic support for our dialogue with authorities and decision-makers. Together, the SWETIC board and the Innovation Companies will develop an operating plan and budget for the coming year, with the goal of creating the best possible conditions for the members.

Their operations and members are an important part of the innovative ecosystem, where quality and safety are crucial for the development of sustainable solutions. The collaboration strengthens both SWETIC's members and our joint advocacy work for a more innovative and competitive social development, says Anders Lenhoff, union director at the Innovation Companies.
– SWETIC's members will continue to pursue issues related to inspection, testing and certification – now with the support of the Innovation Companies' structure, resources and network to continue developing the important role we play in society, concludes Jörgen Backersgård.
