As an association, Swetic has worked on several important issues at the authority level over the years. Thanks to extensive representation from the industry, 90% of the operating companies choose to be members of us, we are a strong voice in national politics. This gives us a unique opportunity to work for the strengthened competitiveness of member companies and the industry in both the commercial and technical areas. Read more about our most important issues right now below.
Technical committees
Swetic's technical committees work to promote control activities within their respective areas through collaboration with SWEDAC, authorities and other organizations.
Strengthened food control
Many actors have stated that food control in Sweden is deficient, including the Swedish National Food Agency and the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Development. Access to expertise and resources varies across the country and the new risk classification model will likely increase the need for stable and qualified food control. We therefore believe that increased collaboration between accredited bodies and municipal control authorities can contribute to more efficient and harmonized food control in Sweden.
We know sustainability
To ensure the credibility and maintain trust in the sustainability report within the framework of the EU Commission's CSRD Directive, an external review process, a verification of the content, is required. Allowing independent accredited quality reviewers as an alternative to authorized auditors to review and prepare a review report on the sustainability report would contribute to ensuring competence, healthy competition and increased credibility of the validation.
Certification of boiler operators
A certification under accreditation includes an examination where the applicant's competence is tested both practically and theoretically, regular testing of whether the certification requirements are maintained during the certificate's validity period and recertification before the certificate is extended. Introducing requirements for certification of boiler operators would thus help to ensure the correct competence of the operators - an important measure for maintaining high safety standards and knowledge levels within the industry.
