Our board
Through inspections, surveys, controls, certifications and calibrations, Swetic members play a crucial role in ensuring that people's everyday lives are safe and sustainable. At Swetic, we are optimistic about the future and believe we have great opportunities to influence both authorities and societal development. Read more about how and why our board is involved below.
Jörgen Backersgård, Chairman, DEKRA Industrial
Why is Dekra Industrial a member of Swetic?
– Swetic is a well-established industry association with the strength to influence regulatory authorities, which is why we are at Dekra. As chairman of the association, I see the industry's continued trust as the highest priority. This is maintained by safeguarding continued good quality and correct application of regulations and directives. International harmonisation is also important. We work to ensure that Sweden's requirements and application are compatible with those of other EU countries for continued good competitiveness.
Why have you chosen to get involved in the work of the board?
– Even though the industry doesn't make much of a fuss, it adds value and security to everyday life. Our members fulfill an important function and as chairman I want to promote both cooperation and exchange of experiences between the players. Even though we compete in the market, we can find common benefits to collaborate on. That's important to me.

What issues are you particularly passionate about?
– I am particularly passionate about maintaining the industry's trust but also future-proofing the business by maintaining and expanding areas where accredited technical control can be applied and creating value.
What are the most important goals for the industry going forward?
– Manage new requirements models and technological developments. There are new areas where independent technical control can be applied and our mission is to try to get the message across about a well-functioning quality infrastructure. Technological developments are challenging but should not be seen as a threat but rather as an opportunity for the development of the industry.
How do you see the future of the association?
– Positive! Properly managed and with the preservation of the trust we have today, the areas of operation can be expanded. Sweden has a good climate for cooperation and there are many good examples where an industry that is highly competitive can cooperate on important common issues. This is an advantage we have compared to many other countries.
Hans Lindahl, member, Kiwa
Why is Kiwa a member of Swetic?
– Through Swetic, we as an industry can pursue important issues and influence both the operations of the companies we represent and society at large. It is important to increase public knowledge about us and show how we contribute to social development. If we succeed in that, we will also become an attractive industry for talents with matching skills.

What are the most important goals/challenges going forward for the industry?
– We will continue to show the public that the TIC industry is an industry that makes a difference and is really important. But for the association it is also important that we work with and take the sustainability challenges seriously. Our industry has a big role in this and society can improve both in the short and long term thanks to us.
Björn Kullman, member, Element
Why is Element a member of Swetic?
– It is important to bring together the industry's stakeholders in a common forum. As an individual company, we do not have the breadth or weight to interact with and influence authorities and international cooperation bodies. Through a strong industry association, we together have a strong voice.
What do you see as the association's most important mission?
– We will continue to work for a safer society. I believe our Swedish tradition of collaboration can also contribute to strengthening Swedish industry's competitiveness in the international market. It feels valuable and important and is one of the reasons why I am involved in the board. I also hope to contribute with perspectives and instincts from a laboratory-heavy business.

Tomas Holm, member, RISE
Why is Rise a member of Swetic?
– We want to be involved in influencing the development of the industry and take part in the exchange of knowledge and experience that an industry association enables. Swetic is a good network where many exciting and important issues are discussed and pursued.

What do you see as the association's most important mission?
– We will continue to demonstrate the importance and benefit of the industry for society and business, and that there are many interesting and developing jobs here for those who want to be involved and contribute to the benefit of society. We also need to continue to attract the right skills to the industry, there is fierce competition in the market and some skills are already in short supply. I believe Swetic can be involved and make a difference here!
Anna Broekman, member, HS Certification
Why have you chosen to get involved in Swetic's board?
—It is an honorable position of trust to represent the industry through Swetic. I have previously been involved in the Food working group within the organization and look forward to being able to contribute further to our important industry.
What do you see as the association's most important mission?
– The activities of our member companies contribute strongly to the development of quality and sustainability and are an important part of the development of trade, security and global exchanges. This truly makes our industry an industry of the times, which we must highlight to more people.
